Technical Issue: Can not get to my Outlook Contacts from Microsoft Word

ProWrite uses the Microsoft CDO.DLL to allow users to access the Outlook contacts from Microsoft Word. The CDO.DLL is not installed by default when you install Office or Outlook. During the installation of Microsoft Office or Outlook select custom and add the Collaboration Data Object. You can also add this component to an existing install by selecting Modify or Add.

Therefore, if you are using ProWrite to access the Outlook address book from Microsoft Word or Corel WordPerfect, please print this page and follow the instructions below:

1. Choose Start > Settings > Control Panel
2. Select Add/Remove Programs
3. Find & highlight Microsoft Office 2000, XP or 2003, then click Change or Add/Remove
4. It may take a moment to setup, then will show this screen:

5. Choose Add or Remove Features, which brings you to the following screen:

6. Extend the Microsoft Outlook for Windows directory by clicking the + sign to the left, select Collaboration Data Objects and choose Run from My Computer.

7. Choose Update Now >

NOTE: Once have installed the CDO.DLL the address book will available in ProWrite when you click the MORE RECIPIENTS button. If you have created sub folders in you local or public folders they will not automatically be visible unless you set the property of the folder to show in your address book.

To set the Contact Folder property to show in you address book, right click the contact folder in Microsoft Outlook and on the Outlook Address Book tab click on Show this folder as an e-mail Address Book.
