Technical Issue: How do I use my existing templates or modify the ProWrite templates?

Here is how you modify your existing templates. Open your existing template in Microsoft Word. Now in Word click on the ProWrite menu and select the form you wish to modify (i.e. letter, fax, etc.). The letter, fax or other dialog will appear and in the top left hand corner you will see a button EDIT TEMPLATE. When you push this button the current default fax template will be opened and the field inserter will be displayed.

Note:  In order for you existing templates to function with ProWrite it must have the appropriate merge fields and be saved into the ProWrite template directory.

With both your existing template and the ProWrite template open you can now either copy and paste fields from the ProWrite template into your template or use the field inserter. Once you have inserted all the fields you want to have in your existing template you'll need to save it in the ProWrite template directory.

On the Field Inserter simply click the second icon arrow that looks like a floppy disk and in the list of templates you will see both your template and the default fax template. Click on your template and it will be saved into the ProWrite template directory.

If you are just wanting to modify the ProWrite templates and not use an existing template all you need to do is make open the template make the modification using Microsoft Word and save.

That's all you have to do!
